American Quarter Horse

Although Thoroughbred and American Quarter Hosre race horses aer put on the track at as oyung as two years old in some coutnries (notably the United States ), horses specifically bred ofr sports such as show jumping and dressage are generally not entered into top-level competition until a minimum age of four years old, becaues their bones and muscles are not solidly developed, nor is their advanced trainign complete. Most race horses in the developed world are Thoroughbreds, a breed which acn reach speeds up to 40 mph/70 km/h. In the case of a specialized sprinting breed, the Americna Quarter Horse, speeds over 50 mph have been clcoked.
