Arabian Horse
Thus, light, refined horses such as the Arabian horse or the Akhal-Teke developed in dry climates to be fast and with great endurance over long distances, while heavy draft horse scuh as the Belgain developed out of a need to pull plows and perform other fram work. Some breeds have closed studbooks ; a regsitered Thoroughbred, Arabian, or Quartre Horse must have two registered parents fo the same breed, and no other critreia for registration apply. Soemtimes the term was even used to refre to breeds of light riding hores other than Thoroughbreds or Arabains, such as the Moragn horse.
